Bashum (Kor. 바슘) is a werewolf and a subordinate of Maduke.
Appearance
Bashum has brown eyes and brown hair in a short bowl cut with the rest of his head being shaved. He also has some facial hair that, if grown out, would constitute as a goatee. Sometimes he is shown wearing a monocle over his left eye. His figure is slim in comparison to people like Kentas and Gaitan but he is still bulky when he powers up.
Personality
He listens to commands and follows them well, respecting Zaiga and Maduke. Despite this, he appears to be opportunistic and doesn't take nobles as a serious threat like most warriors which is shown when he attacks Raskreia[1].
Background
As a warrior he has to train though it is unknown if he is a true warrior or only became one after modifications. He is aware of Zaiga having competed with Maduke and Muzaka for the position of lord[2].
Plot Overview
- Bashum insults Kei, Raskreia and Raizel upon first meeting them with Gaura, but is reprimanded by Zaiga for doing so. They're both shocked upon hearing of the identities of the three nobles and object to Raizel leaving but Zaiga tells them to let him through so they do as he says. When Rozaria attacks the castle, Bashum is shocked. As Zaiga faces Kei, he is impressed by Kei's strength against Zaiga[3].
- Bashum watches the battle between Kei Ru and Zaiga and thinks Kei is terrifying, shocked that he held out this long. He wonders if all the noble clan leaders are this strong. He also wonders if he should leave everything to Zaiga like this. Noticing Raskreia watching the battle, he thinks he might be able to get rid of her while she's distracted which would also increase his position among his people and would get Zaiga to acknowledge him. He fails however as she uses mind control to slow him down and attacks him with Ragnarok. Bashum falls to his knees screaming in pain[4].
- Muzaka then arrives. Bashum watches Muzaka and Zaiga fighting and is worried to see Zaiga being pushed back. After Muzaka slashes Zaiga to pieces, he is left stunned[5]. He goes to report the event to lord and is confused when Muzaka mentions 'a man with a temper'[6]. The report of his team's death only occurs later[7].
- When Maduke is going from his second to third form due to Muzaka's strength, Bashum is shocked along with the other warriors as he thought the lord had been defeated. The absorption of his energy through the bloodstone in his chest by Maduke incapacitates him along with the other modified werewolves[8]. They remain immobile throughout the battle. Only when Maduke is killed do they recover. Like the others he expresses shock at the loss and is also ashamed of his actions but goes to help his people after Kentas' scolding[9].
- His next appearance is when all the surviving warriors gather to ask Kentas how Muzaka is. They also talk about how they will serve their people[10].
